Pre-Appointment Prep Your booking automatically creates a secure client portal in Canopy. You’ll receive an email with login instructions. Log in, complete the detailed questionnaire, and upload relevant documents (W-2s, 1099s, prior returns, ID/SSN if applicable). Please submit everything 1–2 days before your appointment for the best possible review.
Your 30-Minute Appointment We’ll go over your questionnaire responses and uploaded documents together. I’ll discuss your situation, point out any potential complications or added complexity (for example, self-employment expenses, business income, investments, or IRS-related matters), and provide a clear, personalized total quote for services.
If You Choose to Proceed If the quote is acceptable and you wish to move forward, I’ll send the required documents through the Canopy portal for your review:
- Consent to Disclose Information
- Consent to Use Information
- Full Contract of Services (detailing scope of work, timelines, fees, payment terms, cancellation policy, and all other terms)
You will have time to read everything carefully before signing.
Commitment & Payment Once you electronically sign the contract in Canopy, you are legally bound to the agreed terms, including full payment of the quoted fee. Payment must be received before we begin any Form 1040 preparation, detailed refund/owing calculations, or IRS/state filing. Accepted payment methods:
- Secure credit/debit card or ACH via Canopy portal invoice
- Zelle
- Refund deduction (if eligible; processed through approved channels—may include small bank fees; no guarantee on refund amount or timing)
We Handle the Rest After payment is confirmed, we prepare your return within 1–2 business days. You’ll review the draft via the portal and approve before we file to IRS.
Delivery & Support You’ll receive secure access to your filed return copies in the portal, along with 30 days of post-filing email support for any questions.
No guarantees on refund amounts—results depend on your facts and current tax laws. All services are U.S.-based and virtual for nationwide convenience.
